World Mental Health Day 2021

My Sacred Space blog

It’s World Mental Health Day, and I want to know “How is everything in YOUR world?”

Let’s be honest with each other, sometimes we’re afraid to look within. It’s scary unearthing emotions that we’ve spent so long distracting ourselves away from.

But the important thing to know is that all of these troubling “negative” emotions are completely normal. We are not robots that are programmed for Happiness only, we are complex beings who fluctuate through a multitude of feelings and sensations day-to-day.

So don’t lose hope if you’ve woken up in a funk, or you’re feeling angry for no apparent reason, or you just don’t really like yourself today. I’ve been there too. There is nothing wrong with allowing your mind to go where it needs to go and perhaps it has something to teach you?

Whatever you’re feeling, I promise it won’t last forever.

I’d like to share this poem by Rumi, it gives me hope when I’m feeling low.
It’s called THE GUEST HOUSE:

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦.
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭.

At My Sacred Space, our mission is to keep being honest about what it really is to be human.
How healing would it be to finally drop the act and be real?
